Message from the Chief
The Wahpeton Police Department is involved in a variety of community endeavors and welcomes questions, concerns, and suggestions on any issues that affect livability within the City of Wahpeton. If you have any questions please call our office.
The Police Department investigates all calls or complaints and is responsible for the law enforcement in the 3550 acres in the City of Wahpeton and has jurisdiction over another 5240 acres in the extra territorial zone.

The North Dakota State College of Science Campus Police Department covers calls on the NDSCS campus Monday through Friday and can be reached by calling (701) 671-2233. If you have an EMERGENCY dial 911.

Any crimes occurring in Richland County, outside the city limits of Wahpeton, should be reported to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department by calling (701) 642-7711. If you have an EMERGENCY dial 911.
